Curator: Putting the mobile together ourselves feels like a meaningful act of support for global sustainable development.
Designed by Rose & Rose Design in collaboration with the Royal Danish Academy – Institute of Architecture and Technology, the UN17 | Balance Hanging Mobile was created in 2023 to draw attention to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Its seventeen coloured elements represent the interconnected goals, brought together in a carefully balanced composition that expresses how each one relies on the others.
The lightweight forms respond to the slightest movement of air, creating an ever-changing display of colour and balance. Suspended from fine stainless steel rods, the mobile brings gentle movement wherever it is displayed.
