Curator: Every Flensted mobile is handmade, so no two are perfectly identical. Counterpoint is hand-balanced by a network of home workers in Denmark who adjust the rods and beechwood balls by fractions of a millimetre until a harmonious balance is achieved.
The Counterpoint Hanging Mobile translates the musical idea of independent melodies working together into a kinetic sculpture. Suspended black beech spheres appear to move individually, yet remain in constant balance as air currents gently shift the composition.
Handmade in Denmark from black-painted beech and stainless steel, its clean lines and graphic silhouette suit both contemporary and classic interiors. Available in two sizes, the smaller version adds a subtle sculptural accent, while the larger one has a commanding presence that naturally draws the eye.
